Basic Foundational Decoy School

This decoy school is geared for the beginner
training decoy or an experienced decoy
who wants to sharpen their basic foundational
training skills. This school will cover:
• Training Philosophy
• Nerve Classification
• Environmental Neutralization
• Drive Channeling
• Grip Development
• Skills (Outs, Redirects, Call Off and more)
• Muzzle Work
Information being taught is NOT sport
specific and will cover the progression from a
pup to a “finished” adult dog. Everything
taught is applicable whether it be sport,
personal protection or Police K9.
Working Decoys will decoy through several
stations practicing their technique with multiple
dogs. Working Decoys will be ranked under
Shawn Edwards after practical and oral exams.
They will receive a ranked t-shirt as well as a
martial arts style belt that can be worn on
their bite suit.
Shawn has been training and decoying for
Police K9, Personal Protection and
K9 Sports since 1994. He is a multiple-time PSA
National Select Decoy and has been inducted
into the PSA K9 Hall of Fame.
